ABOUT HEARING HEALTH

So many people live with unaided hearing loss just because doing something about it feels scary, or expensive, or hard to understand. However, hearing loss is one of the most prevalent chronic conditions in North America, affecting nearly 40 million people, 28 million of whom are over the age of 45.

Fortunately 90% of hearing loss can be helped with hearing instruments. Yet astonishingly, less that 20% of those who could benefit from a hearing aid actually use one. This means that over 75% of those who could possibly benefit from a hearing aid are missing the important sounds of life and are having difficulties in their communication with others.

What steps do I take?

We’re here to help you improve your hearing….without any double talk.

See our audiologist

1An audiologist or a certified hearing instrument specialist will inspect your ears and test your ability to hear tones across a range of frequencies. If hearing aid is needed, we will recommend the best type based on your hearing loss history.

Fitting hearing instrument

2Your hearing care professional will make an impression of your ear using a soft material. Alternatively, your hearing system may be fit with a standard soft silicone dome right on the spot.

Programming the instrument

3Following the physical fitting, the hearing care professional will program your instruments, making adjustments based on your comments about how the instruments sound. You will be instructed in how to operate and care for your hearing aid.
